Apple Fractions By: Jerry Pallotta
In this book elves are teaching about the different kinds of apples; McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Red Delicious. They are also showing fractions by splitting up the apples amongst friends. They also teach what the numerator and denominator are. They parts of the apple are taught before moving onto oranges, bees, apple juice and last but not least apple pie!
This is a great book for teaching small children about fractions and can keep them interested by cutting up apples for them to eat and see the fraction in their hand.

Down By the Station By: Jennifer Riggs Vetter
Different animals operate different vehicles. The cheetahs drive the train, while the cows drive the bus, rhinos bull doze, and elephants fly. The turtles sail away, and the ducks race cars. The dogs drive the fire truck and the kangaroo's blast rockets.
This was a cute book for very small children. It's a fun and interactive book.

Each Peach Pear Plum by: Janet and Allan Ahlberg
This book reads as a poem and as a small I spy. On each page it has one character some place and then says “I spy…” and another person will come into the story and you have to find them on the page. By the end it says “Plum pie in the sun I spy…” and it gives you a chance to find every character from throughout the book.
This was a cute book because it had an easy rhyme going and characters from separate fairytales all in one book. I liked this because it is a great book to read with a child and it gets them interacting and trying to find the next person.

E-mergency! By:Tom Lichtenheld
This book tells a story of the alphabet all living together and one day the letter E falls and gets hurt. Nobody can use the letter E because it just hurts her more. The only solution is to stop using E and use O to replace her. Even after everyone stops using E she still is not getting better. Finally they figure out that the narrator is the one who is still using E and that is why she has not gotten better yet. When the narrator stops using E she gets better and they throw a party to celebrate.
I loved this book because it teaches how important the letter E really is; it is the most used letter in the alphabet. There are so many puns in this book that I don’t think children would catch most of them. Even though it is a children’s book I found it very funny and caught myself smiling a lot. The illustrations were also very captivating.

K is for Keystone a Pennsylvania Alphabet by: Kristen Kane
This is a poem about Pennsylvania and what makes it special. Each letter of the alphabet tells of a certain place or thing in PA and in its history. It shows interesting facts and history and reasons for why and how something came about.
I liked this book because it had simple rhymes which kept the story flowing and it also was a small history lesson on each page. This book is great for all ages because of these reasons.
